So, this is my dad, Dan. He is my hero. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) about 16 years ago. For those of you who don’t know what MS is, well it’s very complicated. But to sum it up the best I can, it’s an autoimmune disease that slowly breaks down your nervous system. The symptoms of MS really vary, but the one thing my dad really struggles with is the ability to walk. It gets harder and harder for him each year.
BUT, there is hope.
Every year I team up with the MS Society (an organization that is working towards a cure) and participate in the Walk for MS. It’s just a simple 5 - 6 mile walk, something that seems so simple to those of us who are able.
What I am asking of my fellow tumblr users is that you help out with a donation to the MS society. It doesn’t even have to be very much money at all. ANYTHING HELPS. You can donate ****HERE**** if you would like to help out. (There is a button on the left that says “Donate to Alexis). It would mean the world to me, and my father. If you are interested in finding a Walk for MS or other event in your area, you can go HERE. :)
Also, if it’s not asking too much, please reblog this or spread the word. Haha, I know it may not be the most attractive picture on your blog, but it shows his personality so well. And his hopefulness. I really just want to make a change. Love you dad. <3
